Kwara State House of Assembly (KWHA) on Thursday passed the Supplementary Appropriation Bill for the year 2021.
The bill was passed after considering the report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation on the Supplementary Appropriation 2021Bill at the Committee of whole read by its Chairman, Honourable Ambali Olatunji Ibraheem representing Owode-Onirin Constituency at the plenary.
While debating on the Revised Budget Estimate, House Deputy Speaker, Honourable Raphael Adetiba from Oke-ero constituency among other lawmakers justified the increase in the year 2021 Budget from N137.68billion to N168.96billion because of the revenue shortfall occasioned by the global effects of COVID-19 pandemic.
The Supplementary Appropriation Bill was read for the third time by the Deputy Clack of the House, Kareem Olayiwola before it’s final passage after thorough debate on the General Principles of the Bill.
Speaker, Yakubu Danladi, therefore, directed the Clerk of House to prepare a copy of the bill for governor’s assent.
