The Labour Party (LP) in Osun State has called on the Federal Government through it anti-graft agencies to beam searchlights on the administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
Besides, the party urged President Muhammadu Buhari to checkmate the excesses of Governor Aregbesola, a development the party noted, has put the people of the state in an untold hardship.
Rising from a stakeholders’ meeting of party faithful from across the state, held in Osogbo, Osun State over the weekend, the LP bemoaned what it termed “impunity,” currently going on under the All Progressive Congress (APC)-led administration in the state.
“Our dear state is in a messy situation today and the people are messed up too through the visionless administration of Aregbesola. Many things have gone awry which now makes it compelling more than ever before for the EFCC and ICPC to look seriously into the activities of the Aregbesola administration. We can’t continue like this. The situation is hopeless. Salaries are not being paid and everything appears to be at a standstill.”
Speaking through the State Chairman of the party, Barrister Tunde Olatunji and the party’s flag bearer in the last governorship election, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, the party, however, called on the people to continue to be calm.
“Aregbesola has ruined our state and bruised the psyche of our people. Earnestly, our people are yearning for a desirous change. This, we must all work towards. Enough of this deceit which has foisted untold hardship on our people”.
Meanwhile, the duo have also called on the party members to remain united and never allow any propaganda by the APC to sway them.
