A chieftain of Labour Party, LP, in Osun State, Mr. Tunji Oyelade, on
Wednesday narrowly escaped death by the whiskers, when two people
stormed his residence in Inisa, a town in Odo Otin local government
area, and shot him in the belly.
A close family member, who pleaded anonymity, told our correspondent,
that some people believed to be assassins stormed the residence of
Oyelade around 8 pm on Wednesday and unleashed terror on him and
members of his family.
It was further leant that after Oyelade had been shot twice in the
belly, the assassins tied his wife and seized her mobile phone while the operation lasted.
It was gathered that a neighbour of Oyelade (whose name could not
be ascertained at the time of this report) who heard his noise when the
attackers shot him and had rushed to the scene to save him was also shot in the leg.
Sources claimed the attackers wore masks during the operation, making it difficult for people to identify them.
A family source confirmed that the attackers did not take any property
when leaving the residence, except the mobile phone of Oyelade’s wife.
As at the time filing this report, Oyelade was said to be receiving
treatment at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo.
