Lagos State Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, has accused some people in the state of trying to cause disharmony between him and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
His allegation followed media reports of a purported plan to pick him as a replacement for the governor in 2023.
It would be recalled that few days ago, there were media reports that Muri-Okunola had been anointed by the highest decision making body of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) to succeed Sanwo-Olu who may want to seek second term.
Although,, the body has debunked anointing the Head of Service in a statement issued by its Secretary, Mutiu Are.
Muri-Okunola in a statement sighted by WesternPost dissociated himself from publications and innuendoes conveying such plots, reiterating his support for Sanwo-Olu and his administration’s THEMES Agenda.
“The objective of those behind these publications is obviously to plant a seed of discord between Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and me.
“Contrary to the statements being published by mischief makers, who are also trying to play the religion card, I am fully focused on carrying out my duties as Head of Service of the Lagos State Government and taking the Public Service to greater heights,” Muri-Okunola said.
