There is strong indication that the 16 Man Screening Committee set up by the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt (Hon.) Mudashiru Obasa, to screen the Commissioner and Special Adviser nominees of the Executive Governor of the State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will today (Thursday) begin the screening of the second batch sent to the House for confirmation.
The second batch comprises 13 names who are seasoned politicians and professionals in various areas of endeavor.
According to sources in the Assembly, the screening committee which was headed by the Chief Whip, Hon. Rotimi Abiru, had informed the Nominees to send copies of their credentials to the committee.
The sources further disclosed that over 7 nominees had submitted photocopies of their credentials to the adhoc committee for consideration.
“The adhoc committee will continue today from where they stopped a week ago. Some of the nominees have submitted the photocopies of their credentials which each members of the screening committee will go through before the nominees will stand before them”, said the sources.
The sources disclosed that part of the nominees expected to appear before the adhoc committee was the First Executive Chairperson of Agboyi Ketu LCDA and Publicity Secretary of Lagos All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Joe Igbokwe.
It will be recalled that the 16 Man Screening Committee had screened 25 nominees which was initially forwarded to the House by Sanwo-Olu some weeks ago.
