The Lagos State House of Assembly confirmed three nominees of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the State’s Audit Service Commission during plenary session on Thursday, out of the five names sent.
The approved nominees are Mrs. Oluwatoyin Adepeju Adegbuyi-Onikoyi (Chairperson), Mr. Emmanuel Sunday Kappo ( Member) and Mrs. Ojosipe- Ogundimu Jokotola (Member) while Mr. Abiodun Oladipo Akhigbe’s nomination was unanimously rejected by the members.
The fifth nominee, Mr. Jimoh Akerele Ibrahim, was however absent during the screening.
A letter containing the names of the five nominees was sent to the Assembly by the Governor on Wednesday 13th May, 2020 and read by the Clerk of the House, Mr. Azeez Sanni.
The three nominees were confirmed after a voice vote supervised by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa.
Mrs. Adegbuji-Onikoyi, the Chairperson, was born on 14th February, 1956. She attended the University of Lagos and graduated with a degree in Accounting and later got an MBA.
She worked in many local government secretariats in the state for 23 years.
Mrs. Adegbuji-Onikoyi also worked at the Ministry of Finance as Director of Audit and later became the Permanent Secretary before she retired in 2016.
She is married with four children: two boys and two girls.
