The Lagos State House of Assembly has named the Acting Head of Human Resources and Administration, Barrister Olalekan Onafeko as the Acting Clerk.
His appointment was announced this afternoon when the Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. Wasiu Eshinlokun-Sanni during a plenary session informed the House that the former clerk retired about a month ago and that nature abhorred vacuum.
“It is the responsibility of the Selection Committee of the House to appoint a new Clerk.
We have met much-qualified staff and we considered so many qualities such as competence, desirability and others and so we appointed Mr Olalekan Onafeko,” he said.
Onafeko is a graduate of Law from the Lagos State University (LASU) and is currently the acting Head of Human Resources and Administration in the Assembly.
Early this morning, WESTERN POST reported that the Principal Officers met last week Friday and settled for Onafeko as Acting Clerk after critical assessment of the curriculum vitae of top three most senior officers in the service.
Mr Azeez Sanni, who was the substantial Clerk, retired from the service a few weeks ago.
