The remains of Oba Mufutau Olatunji Hamzat, the Olu of Afowowa and father of Lagos Deputy Governor-elect, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, have been buried.
Oba Hamzat died on Sunday after a brief illness at the age of 87.
After Janaza (burial) prayers at his house along Yaya Abatan Close in Ogba, Lagos, his remains were taken to Afowowa for burial.
Present at the funeral prayers were the All Progressives Congress National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State Governor- elect, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his wife, his son, Deputy Governor-elect Hamzat and other children and relations of the late Oba Hamzat.
Oba Hamzat was an elder statesman, frontline politician and renowned Islamic scholar.
He was formerly a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council in Lagos.
