Lagos Lawmaker, Rotimi Olowo Sympathises With Alade Market Traders Over Fire Outbreak

The lawmaker representing Somolu Constituency 1, at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Olowo Rotimi has commiserated with the traders of Alade Market whose properties were destroyed in the inferno that gutted the market early hour of today.

Olowo, who expressed his heartfelt consolation to the victims when he visited the scene of the incident this morning, stated that he would as a matter of urgency raise the tragic incidence on the floor of the House in order to draw the attention of the state government to it.

He stated that he would team up with the local government to perfect a rescue plan on how they would relief the victims of the fire outbreak of the devastating effect of the loss.

In her comments, the Iya Oloja General of Somolu Markets, Mrs Modupe Olufojude, thanked the lawmaker for coming to sympathise with them and appealed to him to accelerate actions for their rescue.

It was reported that the fire outbreak occurred as a result of power surge which was ignited around 1am immediately when power was restored to the area.

 

With Hon. Olowo at the scene were the Leader of Somolu Local government Legislative Arm, Hon Yomi Osunkoya, his deputy, Hon. Jide Giwa, the Majority Leader, Hon. Abdul Lateef Muibi among others.
