The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 21-year-old Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu for allegedly killing the Chief Executive Officer, Super TV, Usifo Ataga, in the Lekki area of the state.
The state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, said Chidinma is an undergraduate of the University of Lagos, adding that she had confessed to committing the crime.
Chidinma was paraded at the Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja on Thursday.
While the owner of the rented apartment where the tragic incident took place had been arrested, Odumosu also said Ataga’s account had been blocked to prevent further withdrawals from it by those taking advantage of his untimely death to deplete the account.
Narrating what happened on the day to journalists after she was paraded, Chidinma, who said she met Ataga four months ago, said she killed him after an argument.
According to her, they had met and gone out several times since her friends introduce her to the deceased.
Chidinma said she and Ataga normally have fun and do drugs together. She disclosed that on the fateful day, the two of them were smoking together before her boyfriend demanded to have sex with her, which she turned down.
She said that an argument ensued and Ataga in anger, hit her head on the wall and in retaliation, she picked a knife and stabbed him, which resulted in his death.
She said: I stabbed him on his neck twice and later on his stomach after he had forcefully had sex with me initially.
“I was tired and exhausted and wanted to sleep but Mr. Michael won’t have any of that. He became very violent and tried choking me to death.”
