Lagos Projects N50bn For 2018 Monthly Revenue


The Lagos State Government has projected N50bn for 2018 monthly revenue. Commissioner for Economic Planning And Budget,Mr Akinyemi Ashade disclosed this today at the 2017 ministerial press briefing , noting that in the year of review ,in the last twelve months, the ministry of Budget has been able to manage the economy of the state with improvement of the various reforms at revenue collections in various revenue agencies.
According to the commissioner ‘you will recall that the 2016 budget was N662.588bn with a total revenue of N542.874 and a deficit financing of N119.715bn. I am pleased to inform you that as at 31 December,2016 it performed at 80 percent.The total revenue on the other hand closed at N436.328bn while Total Generated Revenue was N312.830bn . The recurrent expenditure performed N237.932, while capital expenditure closed at N290.731bn.’
The commissioner in his briefing said the upgrading of slums at Ifelodun and Bariga LCDAs has reached advanced stage with its design and there will be ground breaking of roads before the end of the year.He said the state has moved from Millennium Development Goals to Sustainable Development Goals as agreed by all Nations of the world as the course of action for the next 15 years.
‘In comparison with the MDGs of 8 goals,21 targets and 60 indicators, the SDGs have 17 goals,169 targets and 230 indicators which promotes universality, integration and Transformation ‘ Ashade disclosed
He also noted that the sum of 53m dollars has been earmarked for the construction of new waste management infrastructure, that will be coordinated by the Lagos Waste Management Authority .
On 100 Resilient cities,Ashade noted that the state will be given 180 million dollars worth of tools and services at no cost while the state has commenced the process of hiring a Chief resilience strategy and become a member in a gobal network of peer cities.
Commissioner for Budget and Planning in his speech also disclosed that Global Fund is supporting Lagos State HIV and AIDS with the sum of 9.6 million dollars which will be used for the implementation of comprehensive HIV Prevention, Treatment,Care and support program across 70 health facilities in the 3 LGAs of Epe, Ikorodu and Oshodi -Isolo.
