Grim update has emerged over the school building in Lagos Island which collapsed Wednesday morning causing tension and apprehension on the island.
WESTERN POST gathered that 12 casualties had been recorded by 2 pm even as rescue operation continues in earnest.
Eyewitnesses said the situation around the scene of the collapsed building is very tense as more casualties and injured are being brought out.

It was learnt that some of the pupils sustained serious injuries and needing blood such that concerned Nigerians are being asked to donate blood to save more of the school-children.
Officials of the emergency management agencies like NEMA and LASEMA are on ground to offer assistance and carry on the rescue operation.
The collapsed school is said to be on the last floor of the building.
WESTERN POST has learnt that the school is neither a public school owned by the government nor registered by the Lagos State Government.
The building was said to have been converted into a school and operates without any relationship with the state’s Ministry of Education.
The proprietress of the school is also said to have affected by the collapse and is at present receiving treatment at the hospital.
