2019 Appropriation Bill Scales Through Second Reading
….Budget Committee to report back in six weeks- Obasa
The 2019 Appropriation Bill has scaled through second reading in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa subsequently committed the Bill to the Committee on Budget and Economic Planning, which was told to report back to the Assembly in six weeks.
Speaking earlier, Chairman of the House Committee on Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu, said that the Budget was realistic and that it would be of great benefit to the state.
In his contribution, the lawmaker representing Agege Constituency 2, Hon. Oluyinka Ogundimu explained that much had to be done in the area of Internally Generated Revenue, IGR.
He also said that the Committee had a lot of work to do on the Budget.
Also, the Lawmaker representing Somolu Constituency 1, Hon. Rotimi Olowo, said that there was need for the House to look into how to build up the IGR to further address the issue of continuity.
It would be recalled that the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode presented a budget of N852. 316 Billion on Tuesday 5th of February, 2019.
