Members of the management of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife on Monday were attacked by some hoodlums who laid siege on some parts of the university land.
The hoodlums numbering about 50 laid siege at the entrance leading to the disputed land situated around Parakin, Ede Road in Ile-Ife.
The institution had constructed hostels at the disputed land to solve the problem of accommodation being faced by students.
The management team, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede, while on a visit to the land with some journalists were attacked and made to turn back from visiting the place.
Though no life was lost, but the hoodlums were brandishing cutlasses and other dangerous weapons to scare away anybody coming their way.
They also shot sporadically for several minutes in an attempt to chase the management team away.
