Lawyer, Son Arraigned for Alleged N1m Fraud in Osun

An Osun based lawyer, Bar M.A Laogun alongside his son, A.A Laogun were arraigned at the State High Court sitting in Osogbo for an alleged fraud of N1 million.

The Prosecutor, from the office of the Assistant Inspector General, AIG, Zone 11, Mr S.O Ayodele informed the court that the duo committed the purported crime sometimes in October 2010.

They were arraigned on three count charges of conspiracy, felony to wit fraud and unlawful conversion.

According to Ayodele, the alleged money belonged to one Dr. Gbadebo Bukola.

The accused persons, however, pleaded not guilty to the allegations leveled against them by the police.

The lead counsel, to the defendants, Mr S.P Ajibade prayed the court to grant the defendants bail in the self recognizance.

He said the case had been heard at the Federal High Court and his clients appeared ten times that the case came up.

The presiding judge, Justice W.O Akanbi granted the accused bail in self recognizance and adjourned the case to 20th of February 2020 for hearing.
