The President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, has urged politicians in the country to prepare to make more sacrifices for the electorate and the country.
Time has come to justify the confidence citizens have placed in the All Progressives Congress (APC) by voting its candidates said Buhari.
The President-elect made the statements while receiving a delegation of APC members from Kogi and Kwara states on Tuesday in Abuja.
“I want to appeal to you to work with your colleagues across the country to ensure that we maintain and sustain this unexpected gains in the best interest of our country, It is time to make a lot more sacrifices. You are the real foot soldiers and you have the constituencies in your hands,” Buhari said.
“Let us make sacrifices and deliver on what we promised the people to make our jobs as members of the executive much easier. People should feel secure in Nigeria. Let us give confidence to the people who voted us in, no matter who you are, you should get justice. Whatever we can do in terms of social services, healthcare and security would be done, that is all they need,” Buhari added.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won seven while the APC won 19 states during the recently concluded governorship elections. The governorship election is yet to be concluded in some states which included Imo, Taraba and Ebonyi.
