There Won’t Be Violence During Saturday’s Election, Says Makinde’s Aide

The Special Assistant to Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde on Oyo  State Independent Electoral Commission, (OYSIEC), Honourable Tallest Innocent has allayed the fears being nursed by some people that the Saturday, May 22, local government polls will be characterised with violence.

Hon. Innocent gave the assurance while featuring on Noble Fm and Lagelu Fm Radio on Thursday, saying that adequate security measures have been put in place by the state government to provide security for the people as they go out en mass to cast their vote.

“There is no cause for alarm on the Saturday polls. Adequate security measures have been put in place by the state government to ensure a hitch-free exercise.

“The Police,  DSS, NSCDC, Amotekun security outfit among others will be on ground.

“I urge everyone to come out en mass to participate in the election, I assure you, it is going to be free and fair,” he explained.

The OYSIEC Special Assistant said 17 political parties will contest the election, adding that everything is set for the polls to hold.
