LG Polls: Gov. Makinde’ll Provide Level Playing Field  For All Political Parties, Says Aide

The Special Assistant to Oyo State Governor on Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) Matters, Honourable Tallest Innocent has reiterated the commitment and readiness of  the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde to organise a free and fair local government election.

The local government election holds on May 15, 2021.

He also assured the people of a  level playing ground by the governor for all candidates irrespective of political party in the forthcoming polls.

Hon. Innocent gave the assurance while addressing newsmen on the election matters, adding that present government has no intention of influencing the election.

He assured politicians,  stakeholders and people of the state that the governor has made provision for everything that will aid the smooth running of the local government election, just as he urged them to cooperate with governor Makinde in order to achieve success.

“The idea of the local government election by the state governor is a good development, in the sense that it will bring governance closer  to the people at the grassroots.”

In the last administration, it was not so, but this time the governor has assured the people on the issue and he will do just as he has said”

“The governor has made very good preparation for the election to hold on  May 15, 202, and  has said there is going to be a level playing ground  for all the political parties contesting the polls and that is exactly what he is going to do, because the governor is a man of his  words.”

On security,  Hon. Innocent said the governor who is much concerned about the issue of security and has put in place good security measures such that will ensure peace and safety of the people during the election.

“I want to appeal to everyone to abide by the rules of the game in order to achieve a hitch-free polls on the election day.

“I also want to encourage other political parties  in the state to contest the election because  the  governor has assured a level playing ground for all and he will do what he has said.”
