Looming Strike: Ondo Doctors Give Gov. Akeredolu 7-Day Ultimatum

    The resident Doctors at the Ondo State University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Akure and Ondo have vowed to go on strike if the State governor Rotimi Akeredolu fails to pay their five months’ outstanding salaries.

    Speaking with journalists in Akure, the Ondo State Capital on Friday, Dr. Shittu Abiola, who is the Acting President of the Doctors, gave seven-day ultimatum to the state government to work out modalities in paying their salaries.

    He expressed that most Doctors cannot buy fuel into their cars to and from the office, stressing that most of them cannot afford to feed again

    The doctors, therefore, said they would embark on strike if the State government does nothing.
