UPDATE: Magu Not Arrested by DSS, Says Official


The Department of State Services (DSS) has denied the arrest of Acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu

Western Post had reported that Magu was arrested on Monday afternoon over allegations that he owns four properties and that he was allegedly transferring funds abroad through a third party.

The Public Relations Officer, Department of State Services, National Headquarters, Abuja, Peter Afunanya,  in a statement on Monday, said, “ the DSS wishes to inform the public that it did not arrest Ibrahim Magu, Acting Chairman of the EFCC as has been reported by sections of the media.

“The Service, has since, today, 6th July, 2020, been inundated with inquiries over the alleged arrest.”
