Nigeria’s football supremo, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, has categorically told the new national Under-17 team to follow the legends of their illustrious predecessors.

Under-17 World Cup following success at the 1985; 1993; 2007 and 2013 editions and Maigari has assured the current crop of players being put together of the total support of the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF).
In a message to the team ahead of their first international match against Mali at the WAFU B U-17 Tournament in Togo on Monday, Maigari speaking through Alhaji Yussuf Fresh, a board member of the NFF, said the federation would do everything humanly possible in onerous task of defending the trophy the country won in a sparkling manner in Abu-Dhabi last year.
“We have been monitoring your activities since you started screening and I’m happy that you are making steady progress,” said Fresh, who incidentally the team’s leader of delegation to Togo.
“This afternoon, I have a special message for you from the NFF President, Alhaji Maigari that you have the support of the board of the NFF and Nigerians in general as such, he wants you to concentrate on your assignment here in Togo.”
Fresh further reinstated that the NFF as a matter of deliberate policy would not interfere with the workings of the coaching crew and would from time-to-time offers valuable assistance and support.
“Once again, the NFF wants to assure the technical crew to sustain the momentum because as the defending champions, a lot is expected from you but be assured of our support always,” noted fresh.
