President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Aminu Maigari on Friday sent a message of condolence to the President of Confederation of African Football, Alhaji (Dr.) Issa Hayatou on the death of the latter’s sister.
Hajia Mairi Hayatou died on Wednesday, 9th April, 2014 after a brief illness and was buried in Garoua, Cameroon.
“We deeply mourn with the father of African football, Alhaji (Dr.) Issa Hayatou at this trying time and pray that God will give him the fortitude to bear the great loss,” Maigari said on Friday.
The NFF President added: “I know Alhaji (Dr.) Hayatou to be quite close to the sister, and indeed his entire family. The NFF and the Nigeria football family identify with him in his moment of sorrow and pray that God will give the departed eternal rest.”
Africa’s football chief flew into Garoua on Friday to mourn with family and relations.
