Makinde Tasks Nigeria Police Mobile  Force On Insecurity

Oyo state governor, Engr Seyi Makinde on Monday  charged officers of the Nigera police mobile force to exhibit the variuos trainings they acquired in tackling the various security challenges facing the country.
The Governor gave the charge while receiving  68 Squadron Commanders of the Nigeria Police Mobile Force (NPMF) from the Police Mobile College, Ilaorangun, Osun State led  by ACP Livingstone Orutugu and  accompanied by the Oyo State Commissioner Of Police, C.P Shina Olukolu  on a courtesy visit to the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan
Governor  Makinde who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Engr Rauf Olaniyan on behalf of the State government said Oyo State is a police – friendly state, adding that Governor Makinde has much trust in the police and also enjoys the cooperation of the police command in the state.
He charged the Police mobile force to use the knowledge and skills they acquire during their training programs to ensure Nigeria’s unity and to ensure that insecurity posed by kidnappers, Boko Haram, cattle harders among others, are nipped in the bud.
Speaking during the visit, the Commissioner of Police in Oyo state, Shina Olukolu, stated that knowledge is a continuous process stating that no man is an island of knowledge.
Hence, he said the reason behind the training and re-training of the personnel as part of policy-trust of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu administration which is expected to equip the security operatives with the necessary strategy to tackle security challenges facing the state and country at large.
Stating the reason behind the visit, the team’s leader, ACP Livingstone Orutugu, noted that the Nigerian police force  presently undergoing reformation in line with the policy thrust of the  Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu
Orutogu explained that the IGP had  upgraded the squadron officers to Assistant Inspector General of Police cadre is also reforming their knowledge and professional skills through  training and retraining for  capacity building
He said after the training exercise, there is need to be informed about the Security Challenges in the state which will make them to re-strategize for proper actions.
