Man Remanded For Stealing Catfish Worth N1m

An Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife, has ordered that a 27-year-old man, Seun Fisayo be remanded in correctional centre for allegedly stealing catfish worth N1million.
The accused was said to have committed the offence on December 9, 2021 around 2:20 pm at No 9, Irepodun Mokuro Line 3 in Ile-Ife.
The prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the accused stole 350 catfish, worth N1 million, property of one Mr Feyemi Nicholas.
According to the prosecutor, the offence committed contravened the provisions of Sections 383 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The accused who was charged with theft pleaded not guilty to the charge leveled against him.
The defense counsel, M.A Adeyemi prayed the court to grant his client bail in most liberal term, promising not to jump bail if granted.
Magistrate Olusola Aluko however denied the bail application and remanded the accused person at the Ile-Ife Correctional centre.
Aluko then directed the defense counsel to file a written bail application for consideration.
The case was adjourned till January 27, 2022 pending bail application.
