Activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday witnessed an improvement from what was recorded on yesterday, as the All Share Index (NSE ASI) and Market Capitalization increased by 0.65 percent, while the Year-to-Date return stood at 22.15 percent.
Analysis of transactions shows that the All Share Index closed at 32,827.98 against the previous close of 32,614.60 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦11.314 trillion against previous close of ₦11.241 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 20.15 percent from 182.071 million to 218.764 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 3.83 percent from ₦2.028 billion to ₦2.105 billion in 4,991 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 171.421 million shares exchanged for ₦1.246 billion. Conglomerates came next with 10.953 million shares traded for ₦0.021 billion, Consumer Goods, Agriculture, Services sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
United Bank for Africa Plc, Niger Insurance Plc, Zenith Bank Plc, Diamond Bank Plc, and FCMB Holding Plc were the most active stocks by volume. Neimeth International Pharmaceutical Plc, Vitafoam Plc, Okomu Oil Palm Plc, Golden Breweries Plc and Oando Plc emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, Presco Plc, Cadbury Nigeria Plc, Learn Africa Plc, and Jaiz Bank Plc topped the losers chart. The total companies’ shares that was traded stood at 104, with 24 gainers and 20 losers while 60 stock prices did not change.
