The crisis rocking the throne of Alaani of Idoani in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State took another dimension on Thursday when some thugs invaded the old palace and beat up the Oloris (the king’s wives).

The Oloris sustained various injuries in the process. Fracas had started on Saturday, February 28,2015 when the remains of the Chairman of Idoani Kingmakers , late Chief S.O.A Oniye, were being buried and a thanksgiving service was being organised  in his honour by his children at Holy Trinity Church, Idoani.

Rev. Gbenga Oniye, son of the deceased, had invited his childhood friend, Prince Jackson Agunloye Falade, who had contested Alaani’s stool with the present Oba James Olutoye, was molested and beaten to coma.

One Ibrahim Agbede had brought out the staff of office of the Oba, brandishing it before Falade. All entreaties by the latter for the former to stop went unheeded.

The episode soon degenerated into a commotion, which led to arrest of the Prince by the police, though he was later released.

Some princes and princesses were attacked by thugs in the process.

One of the princesses, Folasade Falade, said she was beaten  with sticks resulting in blood stains all over her body.

Another princess, Adekemi Aladekoba, popularly called”Damsel” was also assaulted and stabbed with a knife on the arm on her way from the church.

Meanwhile, the palace which houses past obas in the town was also vandalised and its gate destroyed.

The wounded Oloris have been rushed to a private hospital in the town.

Falade had contested the throne with the present king, Oba Olutoye, a retired army general .

No arrest has been made by the police as at the time of filling this report.
