No fewer than five commercial vehicles were reportedly set ablaze and properties destroyed in Oshodi area of Lagos during a bloody clash among members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), over control of motor parks on Thursday night.
WESTERN POST gathered that in the ensuing confusion, dangerous weapons such as guns and cutlasses were freely used.
It is still unclear the number of casualties recorded in the violence.
WESTERN POST correspondent reports that sporadic shooting was heard in the area as police were said to have used tear gas to bring the situation under control.
As at the time of filing this report, more policemen were still being drafted to the area to return normalcy.
