The Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko has dissolved the state’s Council of Obas, even as he has appointed His Royal Majesty, Oba Akadiri Saliu Momoh IV,The Olukare of Ikare as the Council’s new chairman.
Announcing the formal dissolution of the traditional rulers body and the appointment of the Olukare as the new chairman, the state’s Commissioner for Information, Mr Kayode Akinmade in a statement on Tuesday announced that, “His Excellency, the Governor of Ondo state , Dr Olusegun Mimiko CON, has formally dissolved the State Council of Obas and has appointed HRM, the Olukare of Ikare-Akoko Oba ( Alhaji) Akadiri Momoh IV, JP, CON as the Chairman of Ondo State Council of Obas”.
The appointment of the Olukare takes effect from Monday, 20th February 2017.
The Olukare has replaced the Osemawe of Ondo, Oba Dr. Adesinmbo Kiladdejo, of Ondo Kindom.
