More of President Muhammadu Buhari’s nominees on Thursday appeared before the Senate for screening.
Eight nominees appeared before the Senate when the process began on Wednesday where in some of them like former Akwa Ibom governor and former Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio and former Speaker Lagos State House of Assembly and two-time Senator, Olorunnibe Mamora simply took a bow before the Senate.
By 1 PM on Thursday, six nominees had appeared before the Senate which included Senator Tayo Alasoadura (Ondo), former Minister for Works, Power and Housing, Alhaji Mustafa Baba Shehuri (Borno), former Deputy Governor of Yobe State, Alhaji Abubakar Giri Aliyu (Yobe), Major-Gen. Bashir Mogashi (Kano), former Bayelsa state governor Timprey Silva (Bayelsa) and former National Woman Leader of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ramatu Aliyu (Kogi).
Virtually all of them like Alasoadura, Shehuri, Giri Aliyu, Silva and Aliyu were allowed to take a bow and leave after introducing themselves.
The Senate later took an hour break to continue at 2 PM.
