Mosan Okunola LCDA To Review Bye-Laws

Mosan Okunola Local Council Development Area, Alimosho, Lagos  State, is set to review its bye-laws so as to enhance good governance at the grassroots.

As a way of getting public input into the bye-laws, the legislative arm of the council organised a public hearing at the council’s secretariat recently where participants made suggestions on what the contents of the bye-laws should look like.

In her keynote address, the Council Chairperson, Hon. Princess Olabisi Adebajo said her administration is more concerned with the development of the area, stating that her administration had keyed into the ‘Greater Lagos Vision’ of the State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu THEME agenda.

According to her, ” the issue of vast growth and development for the good people of Mosan-Okunola is of top priority to us.”

She appealed to the residents to join hands on the development of the council, noting that governance is a collective responsibility.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Adefioye Olasunkanmi said the Public Hearing was a landmark effort of the present council administration at ensuring good governance and effective application of the Rule of Law.

He said ” Public Hearing is a major constitutional responsibility bestowed on legislators at every level of governance.”

He called on stakeholders and residents of the council to cooperate with the council staff whenever the Bye-Laws will be put to use.

A Chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Yisa Yusuf, urged the residents to collaborate and support the council’s helmsmen in bringing the desires development to the area, saying that all residents of the council area should take payment of levels and rates as their responsibility to the government. In attendance are;  All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders, the council’s helmsmen, Kings and Chiefs,  Market leaders, Community leaders, Artisans, National Union of Road Transport Workers leaders ( NURTW), the Council Management Staffs, amongst others.
