He said today an ordinary child of a tailor (father) who attended a public primary, secondary school in Ilorin and other tertiary institutions within and outside Nigeria is today a person of good reputation.
Abdullahi  stated this while declaring his intention to contest as Kwara state gubernatorial candidate in the forthcoming 2019 General Election held in Ilorin on Wednesday.
Abdullahi went down the memory lane to emphasized how important education is especially public education due to its deteriorating  level in the state and country at large.
He said if there was no good public primary school then probably he would not have had the privilege to be educated as his parents were then not buoyant financially.
He however promised an affordable, quality education for all and sundry if voted in as Kwara State Governor come 2019.
The former Minister for Sports and youths development noted that youths in Kwara state constituted about 54% of the population which made him targeted this important set of people in the state.
“During my ward tour to Alanamu,Ajikobi and Ubandawaki the largest percentage of people who welcome me were youths which gave me a rest of mind and more reason why my agenda focused on youths, education, healthcare, Information Technology, Job creation, Agriculture among others.
“If we do not anything about these youths, they will wake up one day and consume us,and what do they need?all they need is good education, good jobs,we can not spend all our money on infrastructural development, we can never make progress if youths problem is not solved.
“Ordinary man’s child attends public schools, am an ordinary man’s child too and I thank God for what I am today, we have disappointed the youths because they have no access to quality education, pregnant women most not die during child delivery any more due to poor healthcare and lack of cash in the pocket of the husbands, there must be market for our farm produce,” he added.
The immediate past All Progressives Congress (APC) Spokesman urged the Saraki loyalists not listen to those defaming the political leader in the state adding that Dr Bukola Saraki does not discriminates.
“This is what I have to tell you don’t listen to those defaming Saraki,my father was a tailor, Saraki does not ask who my father was, neither did he ask Abdulfatah Ahmed nor Sola Gold before embracing us,there is no freedom than that,we know them, they know if Bukola Saraki is apprehended we would be apprehended too, thank God for today we are bigger than them, this is a youths agenda government, ask anybody who is defaming Saraki what he or she has to offer, all they don’t want is Saraki,we will always be with Saraki,” he said.
According to him, “I promise to work for you if I emerged as governor, I am a son of nobody, I could remember when I do support my mother to sell pounded yam, because she sells pounded yam, anytime I hawk for my mother with my sister (Alhaji Risikat) my mother showers prayer on me that I shall prosper and God did answer her prayers,my God who answers my mother’s prayer shall answer all our prayers.”
Earlier, Bolaji Abdullahi Campaign Committee Chairman, Engineer Abiodun Asanloko said he believed he had a good product to sell,a tested and trusted candidate for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
