The Grand Patron of Alhaji Shuiabu Abubarka Audu Foundation and Bank Executive Director, Alhaji Shuaibu Abubarka Audu Foundation has disclosed that his philanthropic gestures has nothing to do with politics or 2023 general elections, but for humanitarian services.
Shuaibu Abubarka Audu who is one of the sons of late former governor of Kogi State, Prince Abubarka Audu disclosed this while fielding question from Journalists at his late father’s House GRA in Lokoja on Monday said the primary objective of the Foundation is to give succor to people at grass root level in the 21 local government area of the state.
He explained that Alhaji Shuaibu Abubarka Audu Foundation is now set to commence commissioning of the boreholes project in four local government areas of Kogi State as first phase of its programme.
“I am the Grand Patron of Alhaji Shuiabu Abubarka Audu Foundation (ASAAF) whose foundation is set up with the primary objective is to provide succor to the people. In other words to provide humanitarian services to the masses particularly in Kogi State.To give succors to under privilege men, women and children of the society .We started with the first phase of the project which is to provide boreholes across the three senatorial districts of Kogi State .
“And the boreholes are functional, some thousands of people are drinking water, people were previously walking about 15 kilometres to get access to water.They are now having access to water in strone throw away. We provided them with the generating sets .In some instances we dugged 300 metres and in some places they had not found water there for about 20 to 30 years and we are trying to make difference in communities. We are going to the 21 local government areas , the length and breadth of Kogi State and every household would benefit from that.The borehole is the first project .
“Like I mentioned in my discussion in the hall, the second phase we would be going to education sector where we will build schools , we will buy building materials , we sponsored students for SSCE and JAMB examinations and provide health care and medical facilities . We will.also provide feeding materials for human beings .This is the beginning of the new things to come, he stressed.
On whether the his gestures are political motivated , the son of late Political icon restated that God gives power to whom he wants give without consulting any one , nothing that God had empower people from unlikely sources .
“What I am saying that is that the objective and my mission of making this trip to Kogi State has nothing to do with politics .This trip is not for political reasons .I am making it clear it is for humanitarian reasons .
“2023 is still a while away, we still have two years to go. Part of iternary of our programme is also to see the executive governor of Kogi State, Governor Yahaya Bello to debrief him some of the activities of the foundation. What we are doing is to complement what the government has done on ground for the people .We are working to support government, we are not working to fault government, he posited.
