As the 2019 general elections draws near, the Alliance For New Nigeria (ANN) party candidate representing Lagelu state constituency in the forthcoming House of Assembly elections in Oyo State, Mr Biyi Odebiyi has promised to improve the lives of people of the area through cooperative schemes and various other empowerment programmes if elected into office.
Oderinde, a former bank manager who hails from Elewure-Olosunde villages in the council area said his experience in the banking sector would be brought to bear through setting up of Cooperative Society as well as strengthen existing ones through which the public will benefit from financial assistance through soft loan to traders and those willing to start small scale business as well as farming in addition to other empowerment programmes to be embarked upon in the constituency.
He noted that cooperative society being a veritable of empowering the people, would be properly utilized and coordinated to enable interested persons access non- collateral revolving loans with no interest rates.
The former bank manager explained further that farm settlement will also be established where interested persons willing to take up agriculture as means of livelihood will engage adding that vocational training centres would also be set up later for those willing to acquire various vocational training skills such as barbing, fashion design, catering among among others.
He solicited the support of electorate by casting their votes for the ANN which according to him is out to make a difference in the society.
“It is time for Lagelu Local Government to develop. I and my party are out to make a difference in governance and I want to assure the people of my constituency that I will not disappoint them”, he added.
