Usman reiterated that quite remarkably 2014 was an accident -free year, however, complacency will have no place in our regulatory functions rather, it will be strengthened by adequate training of staff this year.

He noted that the volume of traffic was increasing and advised the operators to ensure compliance  with NCAA’s safety guidelines and regulations.

While the primary safety lies in the purview of the operators, the regulatory authority will continue to provide the regulatory framework that will increase their value chain,he noted.

He thanked the management and staff of NCAA saying the 2014 accident free year was as a result of their contributions and called for sustained and incremental efficiency in all their tasks to achieve similar feat and surpass it in 2015.

Usman also gave kudos to all the airline operators in Nigeria and the foreign carriers who equally ensured safety and security in their operations.
