New Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland Emerges

The Council of Imams in the South -Western zone of the country has announced the appointment of Alhaji Dahud Makanjuola Akinola as the new Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland to succeed the late Alhaji Abdulazeez Arisekola Alao.

This was contained in a press release issued from office of the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheik Abdul Ganiyu Abubakry, Agbotomokekere 1 and personally signed by him.

The release, made available to journalists at the weekend, indicated that the council, after considering the enormity of tasks and responsibility attached to the office of Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland and after weighing many options unanimously agreed to appoint Alhaji Akinola.

According to the release, the new Aare Musulumi is a renowned business mogul, philanthropist and Islamic adherent. Alhaji Akinola is an indigene of Ibadan, Oyo State.

“He is the chairman of De-Damak Group of companies whose business interest include machandising, automobile assemblage, oil and gas.”

“Alhaji Akinola is patron of numerous Islamic organizations in Nigeria,” the release further added.

Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland became vacant following the death of Alhaji Abdul Azzez Arisekola Alao, the occupier of the position over a year ago.
