Newly-appointed Chairman of the Ondo State State Football Agency (ODSFA),Hon. Akin Akinbobola, has promised to bring a new lease of life into the agency and football as a whole in the state.
Akinbobola was named the new ODSFA boss on Thursday via a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to governor Olusegun Mimiko Eni Akinsolo months after the dissolution of the former board headed by Chief Segun Adagunodo.
In his words after the announcement of his appointment, Akinbobola, who is a former senior special assistant to the state Governor Olusegun Mimiko on Sports, expressed delight that he was given another opportunity to serve, having previously held various positions in the state.
‘’I want to thank his Excellency, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko and the people of Ondo State for this opportunity and I promise to do my best to ensure rapid development in our football, particularly at the grassroots level’’.
Akinbobola was previously a member of the Nigeria Premier League Board where he headed the media committee, the Director of Sports, Caring Heart Sports Foundation and Vice-Chairman, Organising Committee of the maiden MISTON U-13 football tournament held in Ondo State.
ODSFA is the parent body of various football teams in the Sunshine State including Sunshine Stars, Rising Stars, Sunshine Queens and the ODSFA Academy.
