A Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), Fresh Insight Foundation have concluded plans to kit no fewer than 1,000 pupils from five government-owned schools in Kwara State.
The scheme tagged; ‘Operation kit 1,000 Kwara pupils’ is aimed at distributing 1,000 school uniforms, bags, sandals and cardigans to students so as to boost their morale, which is geared towards increasing the enthusiasm of school pupils.
This was contained in a statement signed by Director General of the Foundation, Comrade Abdulrasheed Akogun a copy made available to Westernpost in Ilorin on Tuesday.
According to him a student that goes to school in tattered clothing is psychologically traumatised, he’s disadvantaged and inferiority complex wouldn’t allow him concentrate nor assimilate the society has inadvertently set such a student up for failure.
Akogun said the kitting will take place between Monday, 6th to Wednesday, 8th of March, 2017.
He added that the outreach will focus on public primary schools across the three geo-political zones of Kwara State with 200 pupils benefiting from each of the selected schools.
The DG of the Foundation who also published a Magazine said he budgeted 10 per cent of Fresh Insight magazine’s sales monthly as well as donations from spirited individuals, organisations or group to achieve its task and to put smile on thousand of faces.
Akogun said other items to be distributed during the three day outreach include chairs and desks, textbooks and exercise books.
