The fifth edition of Nigerian Idols, sponsored by Etisalat Nigeria and held at Dream Studio, Omole Phase 1, Lagos, has ended with a winner. The winner of the music contest is Kunle Ogunrombi, popularly known as K-peace.
K-Peace picked the top prize after months of mind-blowing performances, which originally started with thousands of contestants.
Auditions took place in major cities like Benin, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan and Lagos.
The excited winner K-Peace gave a speech on his surprise and overwhelming feeling of excitement.
He said: “I am overwhelmed getting to this stage today because I faced tougher and amazing talents, especially Dolu. I thank the sponsors of this competition for giving me the opportunity to pursue my dream.”
The Chief Marketing Officer of Etisalat Nigeria, Francesco Angelone, while speaking at the event said the company recognized Nigerian Idols as a platform to celebrate Nigerian youths and their passion for music.
K-Peace went home with a cash prize of N7.5 million, SUV car, and a recording deal with Universal Music Company, while the first runner, Dolu, also won N1.5million, a Galaxy Tab, a phone and an iPod.
