As political battle rages on in the Fountain of Knowledge between Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose and Outgoing All Progressive Congress (APC) Lawmakers over the impeachment move against the Governor, the Governor has declared that nobody can impeach him.

The governor, who spoke when members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) paid him a solidarity visit, described himself as a “one-man political army to defend the state from invaders”.

The PDP NWC Led by the Acting National Chairman, Uche Secondus, warned the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government against supporting what it called “illegality”.

The PDP national leaders called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling APC to respect the constitution and the rule of law.

They decry that the raging crisis of impeachment rocking Ekiti State, noting that it represents a “litmus test” for the ruling party’s democratic credentials.

Secondus argued that Dr. Adewale Omirin is not the Speaker of the House of Assembly, hence he (Omirin) cannot order the chief judge to constitute any panel.

He said the “gang-up” against Fayose would fail because the people are behind the governor and they are ready to defend the mandate given to him.

Fayose said: “We will not allow them to trample on the constitution. That the country is witnessing peace today is a collaborative effort between former President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP.

“My party leaders just go home and rest. We will be on ground like the nation of Israel to protect our territory.” The embattled Governor said.

Meanwhile, latest reports had it that major roads leading Ado Ekiti, the state capital and the House of Assembly complex have been barricaded by thugs in what is believed to be a move to stop the APC lawmaker from holding plenary at the State House complex.

An eyewitness’ account has it that the thugs blocked the ‎Olasore side and Efon Alaye section of the express road.

It will be recalled that after the March 28 Presidential election which Muhammadu Buhari of the APC won, the APC lawmakers in Ekiti State have began move to impeach the Governor of allege misconduct and abuse of office.
