The Northern Senators Forum on Wednesday warned governors, groups and individuals against making reckless statement over the Fulani herdsman and farmers clashes in the country.
At a news conference held at the National Assembly, Abuja, the Chairman of the NSF, Senator Abdulahi Adamu, said people should stop holding Fulani herdsmen responsible for invasion of villages by gunmen.
Adamu said it is not only the Fulani that rear cows as other tribes in the country also do.
He said the forum resolved at its meeting to continue its complete support for President Muhammadu Buhari in order to bring about even development to all sections of the country.
The communique of the reads: “The forum resolved to continue its complete support for President Muhammadu Buhari in order to bring about even development to all sections of the country.
“That members of the Forum shall work assiduously to enact laws and amend existing ones when and where necessary in order to promote the interest of northern Nigeria and Nigeria in general
“That we note and appreciate the steps that the Federal government has taken so far to contain the problems of herdsmen/farmers clashes and call on community leaders to be careful when making statement on these ugly incidence.”
