Market activities on Wednesday June 20, 2018 ended on a negative note as the key indicators went down by 0.15 percent, bringing the year to date return to 0.95 percent. The All Share Index closed at 38,605.07 against the previous close of 38,664.15 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦13.985 trillion against previous close of ₦14.006 trillion.
Volume traded decreased by 31.42 percent from 390.466 million to 267.764 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 37.42 percent from ₦6.115 billion to ₦3.827 billion in 4,786 deals. The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 205.433 million shares exchanged for ₦2.698 billion.
Services came next with 17.362 million shares traded for ₦0.046 billion, Oil And Gas, Conglomerates, Consumer Goods sectors followed in that order on the activity chart. Zenith Bank Plc, FBN Holding Plc, Acceaa Bank Plc, United Bank for Africa Plc, and Transnational Corporation Plc were the most active stocks by volume.
Prestige Assurance Plc, C & I Leasing Plc, Eterna Plc, Japaul oil and maritime services plc and Mutual Benefit Assurance Plc emerged the highest price gainers. while Seplat Petroleum Development Company Plc, Custodian Investment Plc, Livestock Feeds Plc, Unity Bank Plc and Union Bank of Nigeria Plc topped the losers table.
