The National Working Committee (NWC) has reaffirmed Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu as the Lagos All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, saying that he polled the highest score among the two aspirants.
Chief Clement Ebri, who is the Chairman, Election Monitoring Committee, said ” The Lagos APC governorship primaries collated the results in the 245 wards in the 20 local governments from the collating officers . At the end of the exercise, the following votes were scored by the aspirants, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode scored 72, 901 while the other aspirant, Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu 970,851 votes ”
Ebri concluded ” Following this result, I, Clement Ebri, Chairman of the Lagos Election Monitoring Committee hereby declare Babajide Sanwo-olu as the winner of the governorship primaries election in Lagos”
It will be recalled that the NWC yesterday nullified the governorship primaries election, saying that election was postponed indefinitely.
But immediately after the nullification of the result by NWC, the National Chairman of the party, Com. Adams Oshiomole, overruled the decision of NWC and affirmed governorship primaries election was held in Lagos.
Around 9:30pm yesterday, the Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at a press conference in the party secretariat, Acme, declared Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu as the winner of the governorship primaries election.
