Following the 2-0 bashing of Ebonyi by Osun State on Sunday at the ongoing National Youth Games (NYG), the  SSA on Sports Development to Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Mr Vincent Akinbami has expressed optimism that the state is eyeing nothing less than gold.
He expressed this during an interview with newsmen shortly after Osun’s resounding victory at the University of Ilorin Sports Complex.
“We are so happy. It is as a result of our preparations. When it comes to youth soccer, Osun State has always been doing well.
“We are here to pick the gold. If you recall at the eliminations, we edged out defending champions Lagos. We are optimistic of the gold,” he declared.
On his expectations for Team Osun at the 6th National Youth Games, he said he is not very impressed.
“For me, we are 15th on the table right now, I am not too impressed. We want to upset Delta State, they don’t have the birthright.
“We will go to the crannies and discover the best talents. Come the next NYG, we will be the best.”
He stated that the passion Governor Oyetola has for sports development, as well as his Investments in the sector, are on the right track to dominate sports in Nigeria.
