The Executive Assistant to Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, Reverend Idowu Ogedengbe has urged residents and citizens of the state to extend necessary supports to the state governor in his quest to transform and build a modern state for all.
Reverend Ogedengbe said the urge became necessary in order to support the governor in his efforts to ensure that people of the state enjoy and benefit from the dividends of democracy under his administration.
He also appealed to all the players within the corporate settings to pay their tax and also pray for governor Makinde who is working on a new approach to governance.
Reverend Ogedengbe in an exclusive interview with Western Post in Ibadan said it was high time the people rallied support for governor Makinde who has been running an all inclusive government to enable him deliver all the promises he made at inception.
According to him, the administration of the governor is of a policy directing and ideology driven, adding that those clamouring for stomach infrastructure may not get it right if they do not key into the ideological driven administration of governor Makinde.
“The governor started his aspirations through road map of accelerated development. The policy documents has a clear vision as encapsulated on a clear development.
“He is trying to ensure he fulfils all his promises. He made promise on education, infrastructural development, resource control, agric development, security and others, all of these drive his government.
“Governor Makinde’s administration believes in teaching people how to fish rather than giving them fish. We don’t believe in the people depending on the treasures of the state, we are looking for how to create a modern city that will attract investors into the state. Governor Makinde has a focus for good governance.”
Reverend Ogedengbe appealed to the people to be patient adding that the opportunity in the administration will go round. He expressed confidence that the governor will carry the people along.
Assessing the administration of governor Makinde, he said they will continue to serve the people adding that a lot is going on in all the sectors in the state.
“A lot is happening in the education sector, Primary Health Care in the 351 wards in the state. The Secondary Health Care has really improved.
“Despite the threats of kidnapping, banditry and all that, the administration has continued to proffer solution to all these problems. There has been great development so far.
He said the administration has done a lot for the pensioners as the governor has spent a lot on them by paying there gratuity, adding that all the sectors have been touched. The road network has been improved.
The Executive Assistant then assured the people of prompt delivery of dividends of democracy in the on going administration, just as he appealed to them to cooperate and support the governor in his efforts to build a modern Oyo State.
