The Ogun State Property and Investment Coration (OPIC) has expressed shock over the fire incident that gutted the OPIC Plaza, Ikeja, Lagos State, which claimed five lives, while 13 others sustained serious injuries.
The Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun, Mr. Abiodun Fari-Arole, who is also the Managing Director of the Corporation, in a statement on Saturday, described the incident as tragic and a rude shock.
He expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and the injured victims of the inferno.
Fari-Arole commended the efforts of the fire service and other responders, who promptly responded when called upon.
He also appreciated the efforts of security officials who prevented hoodlums from taking advantage of the incident.
The OPIC boss noted that speculations on the general ,impact of the incident should be avoided, adding that report of the investigation into the inferno would be made public at the appropriate time as events continue to unfold.
