The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command has launches its counter-terrorism/Agro Rangers unit today in Abeokuta and also the official decoration of close to 200 newly promoted officers by the Deputy Governor Engr. Noimot Salako Oyedele.
The newly created Counter-Terrorism/Agro Rangers unit will handle all security concerns emanating from forest-related issues. The unit will provide security for herders, farmers, animals and other components of the forest.
The commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Ogun State, Mr Hammeed Abodunrin used the opportunity to take the Deputy Governor round the newly built but yet to be commissioned State Headquarter of the corp after she commissioned the newly acquire motorcycles and Horses to combat crimes in places where vehicles cannot access in the forest.
Also the state commander Bodunrin seeking the government support for the agency in the discharge of its duty deligently and he assures of the readiness of his men in combating insecurity in the state.
In her short remark, Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Mrs. Noimot Oyedele who represented the state governor Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun at the event stated that the government security initiatives is beginning to yield result as the Recently launched Security Trust Fund in the state generated over N1Billlion at fundraising.
While assuring the state commandant of NSCDC that the present government will give the necessary support needed to the command in other to boost their services.
