The Organised Labour in Ogun State has suspended its proposed two-day warning strike, following a meeting with the State government’s representatives.
Chairman, Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Olubunmi Fajobi made the pronouncement during the meeting on minimum wage held between the Labour side, led by the Chairman, Joint Public Service Negotiating Council (JPSNC), Comrade Folorunsho Olanrewaju and the Government side, led by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi In Abeokuta.
Comrade Fajobi appreciated the Governor Abiodun -led administration for agreeing to meet with the Organised Labour, saying, though, the workers are enjoying prompt payment of salaries, the minimum wage increment would go a long way in affecting their lives positively.
Responding, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi thanked the Organised Labour, which comprised the JPSNC, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), and the TUC for their understanding, promising that government would look into issues raised by the unions, especially minimum wage.
