Ogunjobi: Nigeria Has Lost an Icon – Osun SWAN

The Osun State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has described the sudden death of the Chairman, State of Osun Football Association, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi as a national loss.
The association said that the  former General Secretary of the Nigerian Football Association made unequalled landmark to the Nation’s football arena.
Osun SWAN, in a statement by the Chairman, Adeyemi Aboderin and the Assistant Secretary, Tajudeen Ahmad maintained that the vacuum created by the former Chairman of Oluyole Warriors will be difficult to fill.
The statement stressed that the integrity of Ogunjobi was never tainted as he served the Osun State wholeheartedly.
The association added that people like Ogunjobi are rare to find as his roles in the development of grassroot football, his transformation of Osun United Football Club and his generosity to all earned him the exalted position of Special Assistant on Football Matters to the immediate past Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State.
The statement called on the Osun State Government to ensure that the late Icon is given befitting state burial and his name be immortalised appropriately for his contributions to the growth and development of Osun and in all categories of sports are immeasurable.
