Oke-Ogun Poly Governing Council Directs Mgt to Proceed on Accumulated Four Years Annual Leave

The Governing Council of Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki has directed the management staff of the institution to proceed on their accumulated four-year annual leave with immediate effect following the inability of the management of the institution to resolve the lingering crisis that resulted to the prolonged strike action.
The council said it has also instituted an acting management whose details would be disclosed later to run the affairs of the institution within the intervention period.
In a four-paragraph statement issued on Thursday and signed by the Governing Council Chairman, Professor Moshood Tijani, after rising from an emergency meeting, the council enjoined all staff and students to resume to the school on Monday, September 17.
The statement reads in part, “In view of the inability of the management of The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki to effect smooth running of the Institution in the last couple of months with the attendant continued strike of the Academic Staff of the Institution which had crippled the academic activities.
“The Governing Council hereby, at its meeting today, Thursday 13th of August, 2018 decides that the entire management should go on their accumulated 4-year annual leave with immediate effect.
“An Acting Management had been put in place to run the affairs of the institution within the intervening period.
“All lecturers are hereby enjoined to go back to work on Monday 17th September 2018, while the students should go back to their classrooms on the same day.
“The Governing Council is using this medium to assure all members of staff and students that their interests are of the utmost importance.”
