Olorunrinu Sues APC Over Alleged Stolen Mandate

A Chairmanship aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Amuwo Odofin Local Government of Lagos State, Hon. Dipo Olorunrinu, has filed a suit before the Lagos High Court against the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee, in the state,  Alhaji Tunde Balogun

Others dragged before the court are the incumbent Chairman of the Council, Mr Valentine Buraimoh, the National body of the party, Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) and the APC Caretaker Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee.

It was gathered that Olorunrinu’s name was in the list of elected candidates duly signed by the party’s chairman and secretary and published in the Nation Newspaper of June 4, 2021 by the party.

He claimed that his name was later substituted with that of Braimoh after it had been published by the party in national newspapers and when he had filled LASIEC nomination form.

Olorunrinu, however, urged the court to ensure that his mandate is returned by the leadership of the party.

It was reliably gathered that some of the persons sued by the politician have been evading court summon before it was eventually served on them on Friday 2nd  July, 2021.

Those sued are expected to appear in court on Wednesday July 7, when hearing will begin.
